The universe was formed in a great explosion called Big Bang that happened around 14 billion years ago. “Only” 4.5 billion years ago, gravity started to pull rocks together forming the earth. But such a long time ago it didn’t look as it does now, the air formed later and life was much different, first starting with tiny organisms. With time, larger plants and animals developed and evolved, and land and sea also moved to what earth looks like now.
