Nectar is a sweet liquid produced by plants, usually in the flowers of the plant. It’s there to attract insects like bees, who like the taste. While the bees are in the flower enjoying the nectar, their bodies get covered with pollen. Pollen is important because it’s needed to make more plants next year. When the bees fly to other flowers of the same type, the pollen on their bodies gets rubbed off onto the other flower. This mixing of pollen between flowers starts the flower making the seeds from which the new flowers will grow next year.
